Below are some key questions that you may have whilst you’re planning your stay with us. If you want to know something that we haven’t picked up on below, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us and we would be more than happy to help!
Can we bring our four legged friend?
We love dogs! You are more than welcome to bring your four legged friend, we only ask that they are on their best behaviour, don’t climb on any of the furniture and that you don’t leave them on their own in the cottage.
We do charge an additional £10 for your dog for the duration of the stay. If you have more than one pooch, get in touch and we can see what we can do for you!
We can't wait to come! How do we book?
Please click on the ‘Book Now’ link on our home page which will take you to our Airbnb page. At the moment, we are only taking bookings through here as it allows us to keep all bookings in one place.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
How many people can you accomodate?
We have two double bedrooms so can happily sleep four adults. We also have a travel cot for little ones, but please bring your own mattress and bedding for them.
Do you have a shower?
We’re so sorry but we don’t have a shower in the cottage. However, bath lovers will be in heaven as you can soak away the hours in our lovely bathroom so bring a good book and your favourite bubbles!
What's on nearby?
We could be here all day telling you what’s on around us! But here are a few of our favourite places and activities!
The Water Mill Tearooms- a beautiful tearooms situated directly below the cottage where you can enjoy a whole host of treats throughout the day.
River Spirit Sup- let Lyndz and the team help you get to know the river by paddle board. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned paddler, they have something for you! We can’t get enough of paddle boarding and are yet to meet someone who hasn’t said the same!
The Grain Store Coffeehouse- this little gem is a beautiful coffeehouse in Woodford. Just a twenty minute walk from the cottage through farms and fields, you will have earned your cake by the time you get there. You can enjoy a longer route home along the river once you have refueled!
Canoe2- Okay, we admit it, we are river addicts! Canoe2 have a base at Rushden Lakes which is a short drive from the cottage. From there, you can explore the river by boat and paddle the day away.
Get your walking boots on as there are plenty of lovely walks on the doorstep. You can access the Nene Way from the carpark and walk as far as your feet will take you.
Oundle- a beautiful market town with lovely shops, cafes and walks. There is a fantastic shop on the wharf called ‘Refill Revolution’ where you can stock up on all the eco friendly produce you can think of.
Is the cottage suitable for people with limited mobility?
We’re so sorry, but as there are lots of steps up to the building (and further steps to the bedroom), the cottage would not be enjoyable for those who are unable to comfortably climb and descend stairs. We have looked at ways that we can improve the accessibility, however it just isn’t possible.
Is the cottage suitable for children?
With a very active toddler in our own house, we understand that children just LOVE to explore everything!
The cottage does have a lot of historic features, steps, corners and cupboards (everything that little hands love to play with!).
It goes without saying that you will keep a close eye on your children at all times, but it is worth noting that there isn’t a child gate fitted so do encourage them to be careful!
We provide a travel cot for you, but we do ask that you bring your own mattress and bedding as a safety precaution.
